Panorama Images

Any image that depicts a wide field of view can be thought of as a panorama, but panoramas made from a single photograph often lack the detail that can make an image truly special. Luckily, photo editing software now enables photographers to create extremely accurate multi-photo, i.e. composite panorama images. Composite panoramas can provide both a wide view and an exceptional level of detail. To me, that’s the combination that makes panorama photography so interesting and worthwhile.

All of the images in our panorama collection are high-resolution, composite (multi-photo) panorama images that have been captured with high-resolution cameras and lenses. These images are large and detailed, and many of them feature a very wide aspect ratio - up to 6:1 (width-to-height). The wide aspect ratio makes for some odd sizes, but I believe that all of the urban, desert and mountain scenes in these images rate the wide view and the detail of a composite panorama.

The panorama images in this collection print to very large sizes (up to 120 inches or 305 cm wide), but they also print at a very high resolution - the same resolution (300 dots per inch) as the imagery in print magazines. Prints of these images can be viewed as close as 11 inches (28 cm) or as far away as necessary to see the entire image.

Most of the panorama images in our collection were captured in the Yuma, Arizona area, which in this photographer’s opinion is very underrated with respect to its desert and mountain scenery.
