This section is titled "Sunsets and Clouds" but I've really only photographed one sunset as a panorama, and even that event was incidental. The same is true for both of the “pink cloud” panoramas, which were photographed within a few minutes of each other. In each instance I was in the desert east of Yuma, Arizona to photograph the Gila mountains. The spectacular colors in these images formed after I was on scene.

It's hard to know in advance when a great sunset is going to happen, so I don't chase them. But when a good one appears while I'm already on scene, I just consider myself lucky. I certainly like the spectacular colors a great sunset can present.
