Yuma, Arizona
Yuma, Arizona, with a regional population of about 220,000, is Arizona’s 3rd largest metro area. Yuma is located in the southwest corner of Arizona, across the Colorado river from California and Mexico. Yuma is mostly known for its its Sonoran desert weather, its proximity to Mexico, its agriculture and its popularity with retirees during winter months.
I think the Yuma area doesn't get enough credit for its scenic beauty, particularly as you travel east from the city. But the nearby Gila Mountains, Dome Valley, Laguna Mountains and Castle Dome Mountains form a rugged and colorful backdrop to the area's desert and agricultural geography.
